Laurencia Irena Autumn/Winter’ 23

‘Red Oleander’

For this collection, Laurencia returns back to her Chinese Indonesian roots. Growing up with a Chinese Indonesian background, she feels inspired to flip through the pages of Eastern artistry.

Laurencia frequents vintage stores where she is drawn towards the Chinese Qipao. The fine silk used brought her to associate the Qipao with petticoats or even fine lingerie. The lace details, cut-outs, and small details that can be find on lingeries are featured in the collection.

The iconic lantern shape also played an influence in the collection, show through the folds and grandeur silhouettes.

Laurencia revisits her flower logo, which is an Oleander, and uses them as an application in this collection. Oleander or ‘desert rose’ is often viewed as the feminine face of God.
