‘’Anchoring Away’
‘Anchoring Away’ is inspired by daydreams of sailors gazing at the vast sky while offshore, lost in their thoughts, away from burdens and stillness. With sailor uniform roots and transformative styles of Taisho era (1912-1926), ‘Anchoring Away’ reads between the lines of structure and fluidity, tradition and reinvention.
Anchored in a palette of black navy and white, it evokes timeless sophistication through maritime wear focusing on proportions exaggerated, with oversized collars and blazers. This collection reimagines the rigidity and precision of uniforms, while presenting depth and new dimensions.
The main idea revolves around uniform deconstruction as the center stage, featuring pleated skirts and intricate sailor collars that blends masculine and feminine elements, redefining structured forms with a sense of soft modernity.
Every piece becomes a vessel for storytelling. The tension between rigidity and freedom, conservative and liberating.
The collection explores how the past guides the present, and the vision of timeless elegance is reinterpreted by the modern wearer.
